Located in the residential area of Condado, Stella Maris is a Catholic Parish offering masses in both English and Spanish. It was officially established in 1965 thanks to community neighbors that united their efforts with the late Archbishop of San Juan, Monsignor Luis Aponte Martínez, who named it in memory of a church he used to go to in his formative years. Residents from the area bought for the San Juan Archdioceses the land where the parish still stands today.
Today this community church and its parishioner Monsignor Antonio Jose Vazquez serve the English speaking community of San Juan and welcomes tourists daily. Three English masses are offered on weekends by Father Damian Wall: Saturdays at 4:30 and Sundays at 9:30 am and 12:30 pm. Confession takes place 30 minutes before mass. All sacramental preparation classes are available in English.
Stella Maris Parish welcomes the community and visitors to host baptisms, communions, weddings and other Catholic services and events. For more information please call the office at least three months before to set date and begin documentation process.
